Free travel!!!

We have to make a trip for 5 days to a family function. Basically, we'll need to fly into a city, then rent a car and drive 3 hours and stay....and drive back to fly home. Dh travels quite a bit for work. The nice thing is, they let him use his earned miles, etc. for personal use. So....we had two free round trip air tickets, and he just emailed me that he has 5 days free car rental. His family is paying for two of the hotel nights (they insisted), so we only have to pay for two. This is going to make the trip extremely reasonable....just a few meals, as most of the time will be with family. This means we can plan more $ for our vacation this year, as this won't be dipping into that fund.

WTG!!! that's great. We are doing the same here this summer with dh's airline, hoptel and rental car miles/points. Makes for a great vacation on the cheap. Makes the fun that much more so, huh?!

Woo Hoo! Be sure to sign up for the hotel rewards program. If you have a credit card that gives you miles (and only if you are able to restrain yourself where that credit card is concerned...now) check and see if it offers extra rewards at certain hotel chains. We are able to up our free tickets fairly often by combining the two (but we always pay off our credit card in full every month).

Wanted to add that some hotels have a stay 2 nights get one free deal too or have free breakfast or vouchers or something......be sure to check that out
