Smile Who has their Valentine's Day plans...

So, who has already made their Valentine's Day plans? We are going away for 3 nights and 4 days up to our favorite casino resort! Room has already been booked and I am looking forward to the trip. Room is free, food is free and I can get a comp to shop in the gift shop for free, so we are good to go. Of course if we gamble we have to cover that over above what they comp us to gamble with. But, if we decide not to gamble we still have a lot of things we can do that won't cost us a dime!

Not that HE knows it yet... but I was thinking about us going out for brunch

There is a nice 'better' restaurant in town... 'better than fast food... but not better than the fancy places'. It's a comfortable place with good food. We'll get a few appetizers and just enjoy the company.

Diva will be at her BigDad's until 7, but I don't want to go to dinner. Too crowded and costs more.
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

Wow mombottoo - that's impressive!! good for you that it is all for free!!

The only thing I know for sure to celebrate Valentine's day is that I'm participating in the VD card exchange and that we will be celebrating it somehow at preschool!!

As far as DH and I go - we'll probably do our usual - He will cook me a wonderful dinner with wine!! Works for me!!

Probably nothing. I'm single, so no big "holiday" for me, at least not this year!

We won't know Zac's schedule until a week before the month of February and I am guessing he will have to work. SO probably nothing.

Probably nothing...ds1's b-day is the 15th, so we may do the birthday party on the 14th...ds2's b-day is the 11th, so it may be a dual-party. An afternoon of a bunch of 6 and 4 year olds...tres romantique!

We will go to a city an hour's drive away and go to our favorite restaurant, on Sat. or Sun. before V Day because the next weekend (V Day weekend) is DH's annual male bonding campout. I really don't know why the guy who arranges the campout has picked this same weekend 2 years in a row. Oh well, I really don't mind as long as we celebrate it.

My birthday is 3 days after Valentines Day so its always been a hit or miss holiday for us.

We've decided that we'll start treating Valentines Day as a family holiday and spend it with the kiddos (until they have dates, ugh).

DD and I will make decorations and decorate the house. We'll bake cupcakes or cookies and make homemade Valentine cards.

I'll probably cook heart shaped pancakes for breakfast and a special dinner of all our favorite foods.

Well, if I had it to do now, it would probably be the Irish Soda Bread that I am so enamoured with now, shaped into heart shaped 'biscuits' for everyone. LOL! Actually, that may be exactly what I will do. In addition, I might also make cut out and decorated sugar cookies. If I was more energetic, I might plant something in a heart shaped pattern in my garden plot.

we steer clear of it! other than dd gets chocolates from daddy

i was a server for yrs and absolutely hated working valetines day. it was always rude people who never go out but once a year and are just rude and dont tip. we go out to nice dinners other times throughout the year.

i could personally care less about valentines day. the only day more ridiculous that that is sweetest day. if your honey only remembers or appreciates you on those days, sister, you got problems!! imho
