Just got back from some really satisfying shopping (can't say that very often

DD#4 and I purchased a HUGE amount of food at the restaurant supplier to go to Haiti Monday. When they saw what we were doing, they donated a 50# bag of brown sugar (we had just cleaned them out of oatmeal) Thank you GFS Marketplace on Lafayette Road in Indianapolis!

Then hit a sale at WalMart and was able to get blankets, dishpans and such.

THEN (and this was a direct answer to prayer) found my food processor - it is terrible for slicing and shredding and I was going to Goodwill it 'cause the blade in the bottom still worked. But everything we have is in storage, and I'd just about given up hope of finding it.Lo and behold, the orphanage in Haiti needs a food processor with the blade in the bottom for making baby food for the tremendous influx of orphans they are getting from Port au Prince!! PRAISE GOD!!!!!

Later we have swim practice, then Bible study.

    Have a blessed day, Villagers!!!

That's a really cool story about what you and the store (brown sugar) are doing for Haiti, Mary. Plus the finding of the food processor.

I am going to continue to knit on the baby blanket for DH's niece's baby. Once it's done, I can ship it all out to her. (I also made a sweater/kewpie hat/booties set)

Then I wanna start on some blankies for donation. I found a really nice looking pattern that knits up fairly fast. I like to combine colors so it looks tweedy. But I digress....

I have towels in the washer right now, and have at least 2 other loads to do.

    And cooking.......always with the cooking......

    Default Wednesday, 2/3

I am hoping today is just a regular day, nothing to write home about, because yesterday late afternoon, my employer announced that there will be another downsizing within the next 60 days, but no further concrete info.

Anyway, enough of that, today I shall:
    1. work 8 hrs, double pace to get all incoming docs in order
    2. get dog food
    3. dinner will be: pork chops w/ homemade orange marmalade (trying out new receipe I found in the food network), swiss chard, rice or pasta
    4. testing out homemade carpet cleaner to see if the mixture ratio works

    Have a great day, villagers!

Low key day. I woke up with joints throbbing - too much grocery shopping yesterday, I guess - so I called in to work. I've finally convinced myself that I don't have be hospitalized or throwing up with high fever to use sick leave. I have two good student workers on tonight who won't even miss me.

I need to put away more of the groceries. I left some in the car that didn't fit in the cart, but there they will stay today. It's a hike from my apartment to my assigned parking and I'm not hauling groceries today.

I need to pick up around in short increments, wash some dishes. Other than that, not much of anything.

Today I took my son to storytime at Barnes and Noble. I spent some of my allowance on Starbucks and we ate a yummy flatbread sandwich. I bought a book to read to my daughter. I went to Michaels and bought several things to transform my master bathroom (for under $45!!) everything was 40% off so I hit the jackpot!

Happy Wednesday! All the kids were finally well enough for me to go to work (YAY!), so that is always a good start! I had to go to Albertson's before work and pick up some gogurts for Girl Scouts tonight as it's our turn for treats. Then I went to CVS on my lunch break and spent no money using my coupons and rolling my ECBs. Double YAY! That is such a rush!

Tonight will be scrambling to put together supper and then rush to girl scouts with my youngest. Have a great night!

Today I had lunch with some ladies from church. It was a fun visit.

I stopped and Aldi to buy some hotdog buns, a loaf of bread and can of chili for dinner tonight. I was very good and spent only $3.08. I'm really watching my spending these days and feel pretty good about that stop.

Washed the van. It was disgustingly filthy from all the past snow. The weather will get bad again later in the week, but I got the old gunk off of it.

    Unhappy

    FAILED.

I realized this morning (Thursday) that last night I left out the leftover chicken. I had put it away, then later retrieved some for the pets, got sidetracked and never put it back in the fridge. sigh.
