Default Wedding Shower gift

I need an idea for a wedding shower gift. My 25 year old niece is getting married at the end of the year to an older man who has previously been married. He has an extremly well paying job - so I'm not sure that they really need anything. Their apartment is pretty much already set up.

The shower is the 27th of this month.

I was thinking about making a money tree, but am undecided.

Any ideas out there?

This is my standard wedding shower gift. Works for new brides, 2nd time couples, etc.

I buy a goblet at the thrift store, add some ribbons to the stem, and package in a nice box.

I like to give a couple of sundae glasses and/ or banana split boats that I get at the dollar store along with an ice cream scoop and some toppings. Put in a nice basket lined with dish towels or cloth napkins. Another thing I love to give is a picnic basket. I usally put a table cloth, some plates, and cups and sometimes a few snacks. I gave a picnic basket at a baby shower this past summer. I got the basket on clerance and added a bottle of sparkling cider and two long stemed glass that I got at walmart for $1 each. Put a candle in there and scattered hersey kisses all around. It was a big hit with both Mommy and Daddy!

I love to go to Tuesday Morning (if you have one close or a Ross or something similar) and look through their crystal pieces. I love to give a beautiful piece of lead crystal that looks like I spent a mint....for only about $25-30. I figure it's something they'll remember who gave it to them as well.
