Haircare products (brands we like, too!) and lotions from Bath & Body and other brands. Thanks Freecycle!

2 of the Bath & Body items were unopened so I'm putting those in my Christmas presents box.

Here is my most recent update through today.

What I have gotten free in January 2011:

    1) I got the newspaper and my first group of coupons for 2011 completely FREE.
    2) I have a companion pass so that I fly free with him. We flew today, so my flight was free.
    3) I got a free soda on the flight.
    4) DH flew on air miles today, so his flight was free, too.
    5) We stayed in the Holiday Inn Express on points, so our room was free.
    6) We both had a free breakfast at the hotel.
    7) We went through Burger King and got two of the BOGO free chicken sandwiches for our lunch (DH, DS, and myself), so we had a total of four, two being free.
    8) Redbox movie (first Monday of the month free movie)
    9) Cold Stone ice cream (for my birthday)
    10) A bottle of Bath & Body Kitchen Lemon Anti-Bacterial Soap was given to me.
    11) Dinner free at Cracker Barrel from son: Pork chop, baked potato, broccoli & rice, biscuits, and tea
    12) Candle - gift from a student
    13) Free ham and biscuit from McDonald's
    14) Can of Progresso soup (w/coupon)
    15) Quarter Pounder w/Cheese BOGO
    16) Gift basket of bath and body items
    17) $10 Cold Stone gift card
    18) Sonic Burger BOGO
    19) Package of Perdue precooked and sliced chicken
    20) Free Redbox movie (Salt)

    Wow - I'm having a great January!

    Here's my list so far:

    Time Magazine for January

Sandwich Meat & Cheese from MIL's (New Year's Eve leftovers)

    7 books from a friend

1 spicy chik fil a sandwich

    4 coupon inserts from MIL

2 loaves of bread (from thrift store, they give you day old bread w/ purchase, I found a bag with two loaves of garlic type bread)

3 rolls of xmas wrapping paper & 1 bag of bows

5 boxes Jolly Time popcorn (free w/ coupon)

    5 J&J mini first aid kits (free + w/coupon)

    1 box J&J gauze pads (free w/coupon)

1 24ct box Excedrin ES (coupon for free bottle)

1 bonus 8 ct box of Excedrin PM (taped to above box)

    4 12oz bottles of Maalox (free + w/coupons)

    2 travel size dayquil (free + w/coupon)

4 Atheno Greek yogurts (free w/ coupons)

2 4ct AAA Rayovac batteries (free w/ coupons)

2 Reach floss (free w/ coupons)

Went Dumpster Diving in the drug store dumpster: (I get a tip call the day they have to throw it out, so it's neatly stacked in bags I can get to) It's so sad to me how much they throw away.

    4 Folgers decaf coffee (22oz)
26 Godiva chocolate bars (3 oz)
    1 Folgers classic coffee (33oz)
1 Maxwell House coffee (34 oz)
    1 box qtips
2 boxes Folgers singles (19 ct ea)
    1 bag Apricots
    3 razors
    1 can chicken broth
    1 can Lysol
    1 bottle bioluxe hair spray
4 ct apple sauce (the little ones)
2 boxes Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal

    5 boxes Stove Top Stuffing
    1 box Quaker chewy bars
    1 can Campbells soup
10 bags Oatmeal Raisin cookies 12oz
    24 packs ramen
3 boxes Kraft mac & cheese
    6 packs cookies 5oz
    6 bags Starbucks coffee 12oz
    2 Kraft Parmesan cheese
3 jars Tasters Choice decaf instant coffee (yuck!)
3 jars Maxwell HOuse decaf instant coffee (yuck!)
    1 bottle Axe shower gel
1 bottle BOD mens body spray - leaky, I tossed it.
1 Discovery Kids fish lamp - It works!!
1 Fun Save ATM bank - works!!
1 Zone Mini game system, not tested to see if it works yet

    Sample in the mail today:
    John Frieda shampoo/conditioner

    * Remember, just because it's in the dumpster, doesn't mean it's expired yet, or damaged - IF it's going out of date within the next month, or they change the packaging, they toss it out - so sad.

While it is fantastic that you have found a way to benefit from this process and reduce the waste, it is a shame that the food and medical supplies are not donated to those in need or homeless shelters rather than going to the dumpster, ending up in landfills unless someone like you saves the things from the dumpster.

    I agree whole heartedly.

Just so you know, the items don't all stay with me - I share with family, friends & the food bank.

But just think, this is ONE store - I can't imagine the waste nationwide!!!!
