We always go to church Christmas Eve. After church, usually around 7pm, we have appetizers and drinks. No big dinner for us, just fun snacky stuff! This year we are getting together with friends hand having a veggie tray, fruit tray, cheese & crackers, bacon wrapped scallops, shrimp, and cookies.

We're going to one of our relative's house and they're making chili. Chili?! I've never had a Christmas Eve dinner w/ that before but I guess there's a first for everything. Yes I know I shouldn't be picky!

That is funny...My mother wanted to make Chili and cornbread for dinner and we protested.

Now we're having pork roast, potatoes, roasted green beans, and jell-o salad.

It's kinda common here--maybe a regional thing? I'm just doing appetizers--hot crab pinwheels, little smokies, pretzels dipped in chocolate, sugar cookies, oreo truffles, cheese platter, spinach and cheese bites, that type of stuff.

Tamales, Mexican rice, lettuce, tomato, and avocado salad. Cookies for dessert, and we'll leave some out for Santa.

Clam chowder, celery sticks and fresh fruit. We eat very lightly on Christmas Eve, usually before church.

Mom is making rice sausage, blood sausage, and kielbasa & sauerkraut, and ham. My oldest sis is making mashed sweet potatoes and glazed carrots. I'm making golden mashed potatoes and oyster stew.

It's a strange dinner to have, but we end up with something just like it every year! The rice and blood sausages are reminder of our heritage and we don't eat them any other time (I think they are expensive.) My family does a buffet-style dinner on Christmas Eve and has some neighbors over as well every year.

We celebrate Christmas with my dad's side of the family on Christmas eve, and we have homemade pizza's. It's been a tradition as long as I can remember.

We have Christmas Eve with my side of the family at our house. We'll have appetizers to snack on around noon (shrimp cocktail, herring and cheese/crackers, fruit, veggies/dip) and dinner around five (ham, sour cream potatoes, green bean casserole, corn, jello, cranberries, buns). Dessert after church.( Apple and pumpkin pie and Christmas cookies). My mom and I do the food.

We are having steak, baked potatoes, salad, dinner rolls, and peanut butter cheesecake on Christmas Eve!

Then on Christmas Day it will be ham, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, finger foods, and lots and lots of desserts!
