Default What's For Dinner Wednesday Oct. 27th?

Ok, so....I hope no one gets mad for me starting the thread BUT....I'm really excited I'm currently in the process of making the "sponge" for this bread:

    http://graphics.dwfreshmarket.com/Gr...%20Toscano.jpg

It's Pane Toscano and it is AWESOME for bruschetta. I've never made yeast bread before

Anywho, I'm making homemade pesto (which I have made before so I know at least that part will turn out right...lol) to have over linguini with feta cheese and tomatoes, and the homemade bread for bruschetta. I'm crossing my fingers that this bread will look at least similar to the picture....hehe. I'll post a picture tomorrow regardless. Wish me luck

Edit: Btw, if it turns out really badly, I expect all of you bread-making experts to help me diagnose what it is I messed up ....Just throwing that out there for clarification.

Your excitment comes through in your post druthb, can't wait to see the finished product. Go you!

I'm going to take the leftover Fusilli with Broccoli and Beans into a salad by adding a touch of mayo. Tried some cold & it was pretty tasty. I'll serve that with grilled pork, marinated in a mustard type sauce.

My dough is doing EXACTLY what it's supposed to be doing. I'm so ridiculous I keep going into the kitchen to make sure it's getting bigger Kind of like last night while I was waiting for the yeast to "foam" Every 2 or 3 minutes I was peering into the measuring cup. I think I've got WAY too much time on my hands. I'll be looking for a part-time job after my parents visit in 3 weeks.....lol

BREAD Not the prettiest loaf of bread in the world... but I tried a small piece that I broiled with a little feta, and it's exactly what it's supposed to be
