What's for dinner Fri 12/21?
Like I said in yesterdays post we are having rissoles, mash and vegies.
Darlene was pretty well right. Rissoles are meat patties but you don't have to have a sauce with them, however we always have gravy. I like to put in grated carrot and zucchini in mine. It not only bulks out the meal but it also gets more veigies in. I also add some tomato chutney, onion, breadcrumbs, egg, mixed herbs and sometimes a little curry powder. I usually cook them in the George Forman grill (a bit healthier that way).
Thanks also to whoever it was that explained the difference between hamburger and ground beef. I thought this was the case, possibly the quality (hamburger being a little fattier maybe). It's amazing the different names we call things seeing as we are both english speaking.

Tonight we are having pizza (frozen) and garlic bread. Sort of like eating out without eating out.
Becci, you are so right about the language difference. I grew up in the Southern United States but now live in Canada and sometimes it is like two different languages and I find myself searching for a word that people can understand. Amazing all the different variations of English, isn't it?

With everything going on here this week I have been pulling stuff out of the freezer for quick meals. It's rainy here today and hubby is off work today..Finally...Yay...so I'm thinking I will fry up some deer steaks, make gravy, mashed potatoes, garlic green beans and cheese muffins. A dear sweet friend baked from scratch a two layer, spice cake with homemade cream cheese frosting when she heard about Dixie, and it was such a blessing, so we will finish that off for dessert.

In our work gift-stealing game, I wound up winning a gift certificate to one of our favorite local restaurants. So, we're taking out the kids for dinner...a last hurrah before black belt frugality kicks in for the New Year.

Dominicks pizza 5.99. We all love it. We usually get the pepporonia and doctor it up with sauteed veggies and of course extra cheese. UM!

Depends on if DD is here for supper. If so, we'll have leftover chicken and rice.
If she's not, DS and I will have smoked sausage, mashed potatoes, green veggie.

Enjoy your dinner out Amy, hope the dinner goes off without a hitch, think one of the last times you went out the kids ended your dinner in a hurry.
We're having tomato basil soup with grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner.
