Homemade Simmering Potpourri

E-mail Print PDF
This is a simmering potpourri made from dried fruits and spices. You can dry them in a very low oven with the door open just a bit or in a food dehydrater. I use a food dehydrater. I have 3 differnt combinations I use.Citrus and spice.Dried citrus peels (you can use a combination of any citrus, orange, lemon, grapefruit, etc) Dry, add ground cloves. Apple cinnamon. Dried apples and cinnamon.Pumpkin Pie. Dried pumpkin & pumpkin pie spice.(I use the Jack-o-lantern the day after halloween).I use a food processor to slice the fruit thin, dry, add spices (I but the cheap ones at the dollar store) and package in a small cello bag. Add a tag telling them wat is inside and instructions.add a couple of teaspoons to a pot of cool water and simmer.
