Frugal activity with kids
When my kids were a bit younger -- between ages 4 and 10, we would take a 'bus adventure' every few months. I'd call the bus company and get routes and schedules (have to include at least one transfer!) to get from our neighborhood to one of the malls. At the mall we might have lunch or even just a treat, but the fun was the bus-ride. We'd see different parts of our city and often take a route through downtown which they really liked. And the variety of people we would share the bus-ride with was great! Very inexpensive and memorable for the kids.
