I go to the discount bakery/bread store for a large supply every 3 weeks. I call that day and ask if they have any "duck bread." I can usually ask for white, wheat or a mixture. This bread was pulled the day before and is still fresh and soft.
If they have a supply I will go over and get a shopping cart full.Since I am a regular they often let me choose exactly what I want from their supply.
The most I pay is $3.00. I usually come home with 35-40 loaves of bread, sandwich rolls, bagels, English muffins, French and Italian loaves.I make room for these in the freezer and take inventory of just what I have so I can plan our meals accordingly.
Anything that goes too long in the freezer before the next visit becomes either bread crumbs, croutons or duck food."
