Day 3 Sourdough starter Wow, today the starter was a new color and lots of bubbles. A good layer of bubbles across the entire top. I can begin to smell the "sourness". I gave the entire starter a good mix with a wooden spoon. I then took out one cup of starter and ditched it and I added 1 cup of flour and 1.5 cups of bottled spring water. I gave this a good mix. This is called feeding the starter. Once you see bubbles you can "feed" the starter daily. I covered it once again with the damp papertowel and a dry papertowel on top of that and set it on the counter.   Day 3 Mixed starter well, took out one cup of it and threw it away. Added 1 cup of flour and 1.5 cups of water, and mixed well. Recovered.   [Next]
