    Default working on HG

Just a head's up that I'm working on HG. It's going to take some time to get it where I want it, but it's long overdue to have some work done to it.

If you haven't visited lately, you can see the changes here:

It's not done yet, but it's getting there.

    Question

I went over to the HG site and it is very much like this one. What is the difference? Why a second site? Just curious.

Florence, because the main focus is on gardening of all types. Although we do have other forums (some similar to here), we really try to focus on the gardening aspect.

There's a difference between the path of frugality and simplicity. Some topics overlap, but HG is different.

Frugality involves the difference between wants and needs and simplicity is the freedom that stems from frugality.

For me, frugality was the means to reach simplicity. The focus at HG is much more specialized in gardening and the lifestyle pace than about reducing waste, reusing, recycling, and budgeting.

One is getting back to basics and the other has already accomplished the basics or are further along their path.

Some people will be at both places, but overall both sites cover different stages and different people.

Frugality is living with less and simplicity is wanting less and involves conscious living. Frugality is outward and simplicity is inward.

Hoping this helps explain the difference a bit.
