    Lisa's Easy Deviled Eggs


    Recipe Description
    These are so good that none are ever left from church dinners. I find many people try to add to much stuff to their eggs and they are just not as good. Keeping it simple is my best advice.
    Preparation Steps:
    You will need a large pot to boil the eggs in. A deviled egg or flat pan for the eggs. A bowl to put the yellow of the egg in to mix.
    Level of Difficulty:
    Easy
    Time Needed:
    45 minutes
    Ingredients:
    12 boiled eggs, peeled and cut in half
    1/2 cup mayonnaise
    1/4 cup pickle relish
    1 TBSP of mustard
    Salt and pepper to taste
    Serves:
    2 dozen egg halves
    Directions:
    Put dozen eggs in a large pot with a big dash of salt for easy peeling and boil until done through and through. Put the eggs in cold water to cool for a few minutes before peeling. Peel the eggs, washing any shell off and then slice in half. Remove the yolk and put into mixing bowl. When all are ready put all the rest of the ingredients in with the egg yolk and using a fork stir and them up making sure all the yolk is crushed and you get a thick consistancy. Then taking a teaspon dip out enough yolk mixture to fill the egg half. Cover and place in the fridge to chill. Yum! Yum!

    I do one different step. Instead of mixing everything in a bowl I do it in a zip lock bag. Put the ingredients in zip it shut. Mush it around then snip off one corner. Pipe filling into eggs and toss empty bag when your done. Less clean up.

    Gotta have a couple TBS of finely chopped onions mixed in and a sprinkle of paprika on top when I make mine.

    Heartofmine - your recipe is a lot like mine, but instead of salt & pepper I add 1 tsp. dill weed & 1/2 envelope of ranch dip mix and sprinkle a little more dill on the tops instead of paprika.

    Laurie - am gonna have to try the ziploc thing, sounds easy.

    Gotta have just a tad bit of cider vinegar in mine and use hot dog relish if I don't use dill pickles.........dislike a sweet tasting deviled egg.

    I always add a little worchestshire sauce and for decoration paprika or even better chive blossoms.

    frugalfranny - I'm with ya on disliking a sweet devilled egg! YUK. I use dill relish only (potato salad, chicken salad, tuna, you name it) and I ONLY use mayonnaise NOT Miracle Whip (double YUK).

    Wow, you guys make your eggs complicated.

    I simply boil my eggs, slice in half, mash the yolks and then add enough mustard and Miracle Whip to taste. I sometimes use mayonnaise if I feel like it, but if I eat too much mayonnaise, I get migranes.

    Miracle Whip = bad for diabetics in addition to being nasty.

    I boil eggs just till they boil good. Turn off the heat,cover and let sit for 13 minutes. Place in ice cube cold water, and then in fridge over night.

    Peel, put yolks in a bowl. In another bowl I add and I don't measure anything, so....... real mayo(Hellmans) only,sugar,mustard and relish,and milk, tad bit of pepper,mix well,add to yolks,add gradually,nothing worse then a runny mixture. Spoon into egg halves and sprinkle with paprika.

    I make these 3 times a year only,easter,thanksgiving,and 4th of July, and I make over 50 at a time. Never any leftovers. In fact if I made 100 there wouldn't be any leftovers.

    I would help my grandmother make these ever since I was a little girl,she taught me how to "NOT" measure anything. Just quess.
