    Default Hummus Deviled Eggs

    Hummus Deviled Eggs


    Recipe Description
    a twist on traditional deviled eggs - for an alternative, you can add chopped roasted red peppers into the yolk mixture.
    Preparation Steps:
    Hard Boil eggs, allow to cool and peel off the shell.
    Level of Difficulty:
    Easy
    Time Needed:
    20 minutes plus cooling
    Ingredients:
    6 eggs
    1/3 cup hummus
    1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    Roasted red peppers
    Serves:
    serves 6
    Directions:
    1. Slice hard boiled eggs lengthwise and remove yolks into a bowl, set whites aside on a tray.
    2. mash yolks and add hummus.
    3. Salt and pepper to taste
    4. With a piping bag (or zip bag with a corner cut off), pipe the egg yolk mixture into the well of each white.
    5. Top the egg with a thin slice of roasted red pepper.

    I love both hummus and devilled eggs so think I will give this a try. Mahalo for an interesting twist on a basic recipe!!

    do you think it can be done w/ just hummus and no egg yolks? we are on cholesterol watch over here

    i think i may try it...dh LOVES deviled eggs...we do eat alot of the Sabra Spicy hummus....think i may try it w/ the spicy and the red pepper one....will post back after i do...

    Its Mediterranean like hummus, tzatziki etc - its a dip made out of eggplant and herbs - very tasty if you find a brand you like. Can be used as a spread or dip like the other two things
