    Default cheese crackers

    1/2 cup butter
1 cup shredded cheese, sharp cheddar works well
    1-2 cups flour.

mix well, roll out, cut, prick with a table fork. bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes.

    That sounds delish!

I make a pizza type spread consisting of aged cheddar, olives, onion (finely chopped), garlic, black pepper, and a little spice that can be spread over buns and broiled in the oven for a quick tasty snack.

I hate rolling out stuff like crackers. I use my pasta machine for that, lay the long strips on pans, and score them with a fondant cutter or pizza wheel. If it's not possible to use the pasta maker, I use my tortilla press. If that doesn't work, I roll the dough directly onto the pans and then cut in squares.

A food processor usually works great to mix the dough.

Wish I could find a good recipe for saltines. I can't get them to puff up like the kind from the store.
