freezing apple pie filling in pan
Has anyone tried freezing the pie filling ( sliced apples, cinnamon & sugar) in a pan so you can pop it out and just put it into a crust before baking? I have heard you can do this but don't know if you just use a regular apple pie recipe or what. thanks, the apples are going soft so I'd better get busy!

Hum, It sounds like it would work. I would make the filling, the regular way and line the pan with plastic wrap, freeze and pop out, just like you said. If I had more freezer space, I would try it.

Sounds like a good idea..... I always just put it in a freezer baggie and thawed it out to use....... This works better for me as I sometimes do tarts and other things with the filling.... let us know how it works if you try it .......
