What do you pay to pick apples?
I was really shocked today. I took DD to pick apples at our local apple farm. We paid almost 1.00 a lb! When we moved here 5 years ago we paid about .35c a lb. Last year it was .60c lb. I understand the bonding experience with DD but I can get fresh picked cheaper than that at Price Chopper this time of year when they go on sale. What are you all paying? Thanks.

I don;t know of anywhere near me that lets you pick your own apples, but at the local garden stores you can get them for 49 cents a pound.

The 'pick your own' near me where I'm planing on going soon has them for $.79 per pound. (oh BTW I'm in NH)
Hmmm... makes sense that they should be cheap being that you have to do the work picking them and all.

I haven't picked apples in several years, but that's quite a jump in price just for picking.

Wish we had a place to go and pick apples. We did go to Ohio a few years ago and picked with DD. It was a great experience and I would happily pay a buck a pound to do it again!

We went apple picking on Saturday! At the farm we went to they have 2 different buckets.....a $9 bucket and a $14 bucket. We took the smaller bucket and got maybe 10lbs of apples......so right around $1/lb!! We were also able to get bartlett pears. We picked 23 lbs. and paid $12, a much better deal!!

We pay zero since we have a big old apple tree. However I pay for gas to haul some of them away!

We picked apples yesterday and pay $17.00 a bushel - have no idea what it weighs, will try and weigh them later and will post the price.

$0.99/lb...we'll be going with Dave's mil--though for that price it would be cheaper to just get them at the grocery store.

Gee, picking apples sounds like such fun! I don't know if they have any places like that near here, but I'm going to check it out.
Sounds like you all had a great time.
