    Default Apple cinnamon syrup

    APPLE CINNAMON SYRUP

    1/2 C. packed brown sugar
    1/3 C. water
    2 T. butter
    1 tsp. cornstarch
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    dash of nutmeg
    3 medium apples; peeled and sliced

    Bring brown sugar, water, butter, cornstarch and cinnamon to a boil; boil until thick, about 2 minutes. Stir in apples; cook until tender, 10-12 minutes.

    Great served on pancakes, waffles, ice cream...yumm

    Thanks, Sara. This sounds really good for pancakes or waffles. We eat a lot of them and are running low on maple syrup. My in-laws make it every year and give us some, but when it's gone I will try this.

    We live two miles down the road from an orchard, and we are taking DD apple-picking for the first time later today, so I was looking for recipes.
