Default Where to find appliance parts?

Our house came with a 1996 GE Spacemaker microwave/overhead light/vent fan. The door handle broke, DH was able to superglue it but it's breaking again and this time can't be fixed that easily.

Where do people get replacement parts for their appliances? I'm not sure I want to replace the whole door, though that might be what it's going to take.

    Thanks. Hmmm.

Trying not to have "a moment" as I look at the price to replace parts.

Guess who will be learning how to fix a microwave?

We have an appliance part store in our city. Most decent size cities have one. Look in the yellow pages under appliance repairs or parts. I agree that some of the parts are expensive. Our dishwasher needs new racks because the ones we have are rusting. New racks run from $100 to $350 each! It doesn't seem worth it to put $200 worth of racks into a 5 year old DW that only cost $500 new.

In my experience parts are ridiculously expensive for things like that...
