Sorry to hear about your car problems.
What type of vehicle is this? Is the work you are doing with it more expensive than what the vehicle is worth?

Ugh! I hear ya! Just in the last two weeks we've put in almost $1000 into dh's 15yo truck. I just keep muttering under my breath.. it's cheaper than a car payment, it's cheaper than a car payment

I so understand! Last friday I wiped out my whole EF fund on auto repairs. It seems amazing to me how it starts out as one little thing and ends up costing so much. Like you I keep telling myself, Its better than a payment! And as was pointed out to me on a different post, I am glad I had the fund in place or it would have had to go on credit as I couldn't have come up with the money to fix it and its the ONLY car we have! I hope Murphy leaves soon, I can't afford any more until I get my EF built back up! Good luck, I hope he moves on from your house too!!

Hang in there. Unless you have a really cheap car payment, it IS cheaper for you to keep the old beast up and running.

What a bummer! We also have older vehicles without car payments. Of course, they need repairs occasionally and everything seems to wear out at once. Hang in there--at least you don't have a car payment.
