Miles per Dollar

Every seven miles I go costs me $1.00 It's simple math, but I just never thought about it this way.

Yeah, mine does about 8 1/3 miles per dollar IF you only count the fuel. It's obviously worse if you add in things like tires and maintenance, and you REALLY don't want to think about it with the purchase price thrown in.

Incidentally, I've gotten to where my immediate response when someone suggests going somewhere out in the toolies that is 'cheap' is "Don't forget to factor in the $10.00 to get there!" - it annoys them, but it does make them think.

I read that earlier today.... I get 10.6 mpd. It really puts things into perspective...

Obviously i do not travel much... it costs me $10 per week to go back and forth to work 5 days and take Joe to the flea market 2 days ( which i go home since i usually am working nights... so thats 4 trips )

I probubly get 10mi to the gallon or so its about 10 mins to work and 2 min to the flea market

Wow, that really puts a different light on things. We only get 8 miles to the dollar. I thought I had a car that did better than that.

I get 11.75 mpd, not bad I guess but I would say usually 10.25 mpd when I dont use my points to get 10cents off per gallon.
