  1. Go for what you know

Seeing my first episode of Extreme couponing and I was hooked. I brought all the trappings. The binder, baseball sleeves to keep my coupons in. Tracking sales (or at least trying to). Joining blogs, reward cards and just about anything to stretch a dollar. I also have been tracking how much I am saving. I mean right down to the paper and ink I use to print out my coupons. I must be doing something wrong.

I have always lived frugal. The majority of my frugal was a necessity. ...

I have always been creative when it comes to restyling my thrift shop finds. Something in me is compelled to change the item once it is in my possession. From clothes, accessories and furniture. I must put my stamp on it. Lately I have been redesigning some of my old pieces as well as my newly purchases items. My one missing weapon is a sewing machine. Once I purchase that, I will be unstoppable. This will broaden my designing skills even further. Here is my master plan to extend ...
  3. Savings

I started watching TLC's Extreme Couponing. I have used coupons before and had great success(also I was living in bigger city, with a bigger market). Plus the Sunday paper would be available on Saturday night, so I was able to get the jump on the sales on Sunday, bright and early. I was so enthralled with the savings, I made my own notebook, joined several sites, subscribed to All you magazine. It became a life all on its own. I tried to start a couponing club, that tid not go anywhere. ...

I am back in my hometown, visiting my family. Naturally, I had to visit some of my old haunts(code word for thrift shop). What joy it was to see there was one right around the corner from my son's apartment. Another joy I experinced was my children have visited thrift shops and have become somewhat frugal. These are the same children who would step foot into a thrift shop. My daughter recently found a table on the street. I wa shocked and the fact that she told of her find on her facebook ...
  5. Thrifty, Frugal and Green

I tried an experiment over a year ago. Can buy everything I need with coupons, garage sales, and thrift shops. Except for underwear, I think I succeeded. I found some exceptional bargins and some flops that did not hold up.

At times I feel like I have won and other times I feel like I have lost. I have always been a thrift shop/garage sale/dumpster diving/coupon baby. I just took it to another level. Now a year later I find my bank account no bigger, my saving account not ...
