A weekly journal of life on Mad Hen's ranch.
Another wild and crazy week!
At work, the week was spent getting an arrest warrant finalized and then flying to southern California to serve it. I had two warrants, so we had a small team in each location. I left on Thursday, sat at the airport to wait out the delays that SWA is experiencing due to the storms throughout the country, and finally got on my flight at 9:30p and to my hotel at about 11:30p. Then I had to drive another couple of hours the next morning to get to my arrest
Another week, and wow, did this one fly by! I have been trying to get all my Christmas cookies done, and as of tonight, I have 31 varieties bagged and in the freezer! I still have a ton of ingredients, so if I have any time, I may try to make some more, just to use up what I have.
The weather went from spring to summer to autumn to winter, all in one week! I started out the week in shorts, and as of noon today, I was baking cookies while watching the snow flurries whipping around

This week went by very quickly!! Work was hectic! I spent all day on Monday at training, then I had to meet with a defense attorney on Tuesday, and prep some witnesses for Grand Jury on Thursday! In between, I am trying to prepare for travel this coming week and get some of my case work updated!!
At home, I have been a baking fool, trying to get the cookie platters done by next weekend. I probably won't have them done until the week of Christmas, but it would be nice to be able

Beautiful weather most of the week, with only one day of rain.
I have moved one of the chickens indoors, into the birds' room, as she has been picked on by one of the guinea hens, and plucked bald from about her wings down. I had been putting off isolating her, because it is so hard to reintroduce a bird that has been pulled, but she looks really ratty, had some healed lacerations, and has taken to hiding all day, so I brought her in and we are starting to work on getting her better

Let's see, where to begin.
The weather here in California has been wonderful. It was in the 70's every day, with the lows at night only getting into the 50's. It made it hard to go to work every day, as I had to drive past pastoral scenes of goats grazing in green fields, chickens napping under the shade of manzanita trees on the hill, and my dogs wagging their tails at me as if to invite me to come and play. Every day at work this week was tiresome, especially driving off knowing
