2008 was a really tough year. I am hoping that 2009 will be better, but then again, I say that every year. We want so badly to expand our family and add on a baby. In 2008 we underwent 2 fresh IVF cycles and 1 frozen cycle. All of those attempts ended with no baby. January was our first attempt and it left me physically and mentally spent. We were left with one embryo to freeze, so we used that for the frozen cycle in April. We decided to take the summer off and do another fresh IVF cycle in October. I started seeing a therapist in August/September because I was starting to lose my mind.

I started my whole frugal journey here in May in an effort to get my mind off the whole infertility thing. It has helped in more than one way. We are not using credit cards, I cook more at home, I use coupons, we have paid off the debt consolidation loan, and are snowballing to get rest of our debt paid off, we are saving more and contributing more to our IRA's. I feel like we have accomplished a lot amidst the failure I have been feeling.

Here's to 2009.....

I dont envy you, we have been down that whole IVF route adn it was not a whole lot of fun. The best thing I can say is definetly keep up with trying to keep your mind off it as it can totally screw up your head thinking about things watching and waiting. I wish you all the best for your cycles and hope that 2009 is a great year for you.
