  1. Still working out the kinks

    Okay, so some things seem to be much easier when working within the budget perimeter, others, not so much.

    A couple things that I've noticed that seem to be easier is that having a category or budget for every expenditure, puts alot less stress on having to worry about where that extra money is coming from.

    Like for instance, this week I had to buy my 14 dd. daughter a new bathing suit.
    Having a 'clothing' category solved that problem.

    Okay, so with us now being into June & also beginning our new budgeting system & envelope system, I have already come across some things that need to be addressed.

    1~I need to add one more envelope to my system, for the pets. How I forgot this one I dunno.
    But this will cover vet. visits, hearguard & heartworm meds., etc.

    2~Learning to be realistic with your budgeting amounts makes it much easier to live within a budget.

  3. Getting finances under control=a more organized life??

    Really, at this point I may just still be on that motivation 'high'!

    But in the past few weeks I've noticed a shift in thinking.
    Once I decided to get back on top of our finances and get things in order with our budget, I've noticed that I feel overall more organized.

    I've been clearing things out of the house, reorganizing kitchen shelves, staying more on top of the paper 'clutter', etc.

    Has anyone else felt this? Or could it just be all in my

    Man, oh man!!! Does it ever feel good!!

    I *just* paid off our first of 3 debts first thing this morning & does it ever feel good!!

    I know it was only a small amount/account but now, one less we have to worry about.

    On to #2!!!
  5. Budgeting~Step 10

    Okay, so I mentioned yesterday that I would come back and make an entire post about #10.

    Here it is.

    *My* take on paying off our debts.

    So if you've done a budget, the next step would be to bring everything current and that may take anywhere from a couple months to an entire year.
    But I feel like this step has to be done in order to ever feel like you're getting ahead.

    There are basically 2 ways I look at paying off
