  1. My feeling unappreciative thread~Waaa, waaa, waaaa!!

    by , 05-11-2009 at 07:43 AM
Okay, so I'm going to call this my "Waaa, waaa" thread!
Whining & pity part ahead, so read at your own risk!

I'm sure after reading the title the day after Mother's Day you already have some inkling of what I'm about to say.

It was my idea to stay home this year, I'm okay with that.
But all I asked is that lunch/dinner was prepared for me.

    That's it.

I even let Mike know on Saturday, *on the way to the grocery

  2. Update from the weekend and some stockpile talk

    by , 05-07-2009 at 12:16 AM
As for going through my Dad's belongings, I won't go into too much here.
But basically everything was 'taken care of' by my aunt.
    I'll leave it at that.

We did make it to the aquarium and it was really great. I had as much fun as the kids did, I love going places and experiencing new things and there were some of *the* coolest fish, penguins, jellyfish, etc. there that I've ever seen.
It turned out to be a wet/rainy day, but we still all had a really good time.

  3. Just Life

Well, we are still dealing with my Dad's passing. I still can't believe he's gone.

The kids are out of school tomorrow, which is good. I can use a day off from getting up early and driving them to school.
Sunday is ds. 16th birthday, we have plans to take him & his friend to the aquarium in Chattanooga.
Supposedly it's a really good one.

He went to bed last night not feeling too well, so we'll see how things go by Saturday, which is the day we have
  4. In Loving Memory

    Luther Ledbetter of Jamestown, TN.
    Born June 15, 1938 passed away April 15, 2009.
Father of one son & one daughter, 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.

This weekend was terribly hard but I wanted to share this here because I have mentioned in my blog and in various threads how Dad was struggling with his colon cancer.

As hard as it is to lose one of the people who has been with you through your entire life, he is no longer in pain.
  5. Refocusing & other babbling

Well, I guess I've gotten slack lately on stockpiling.
I haven't added much in the past few weeks except some more cases of bottled water, cookies and a few other odds & ends.

I'm breaking out my stockpiling binder today and spending some time with it to tweak my list and update some quantities.

We went to see Dad on Friday, he's still the same.
He's on morphin now and taking as much as possible, so they won't be able to up his meds. anymore.
