First, it is important that you know that my best friend is a chef. In fact, she is a GREAT chef!

And today, to her horror, I mad a shocking confession.

In order to reduce this weeks grocery spending , I had spent 48 hours eating my way through a package of hotdogs without buns, dipped in ketchup and mustard. Actually, I ate 7 of them. And worse, I didn't feel deprived - I actually enjoyed them.

Kind of like the cookies that I stole from the cookie jar when I was a kid...like I was getting away with something!

Her horror was tied completely to the fact that I would put myself through such gastronomical torture...she understands the frugal piece, but not the "eat whatever is on hand" piece.

She despairs of me, but I am happy with my choices...

Today I spent $40 on groceries and am well-stocked for the next couple of weeks!
