Today, we went through and threw a lot of stuff away. We try to do this as often as we can and we still never seem to catch up. We found stuff that should have been pitched years ago. I shredded cancelled checks from 1994. I thought our bills and such were caught up but boy was I mistaken. I worked the shredder till exhaustion. I tried, in vain, to use this as an excuse to buy a wood chipper. Dw did not see the logic. We pitched (recycled) empty boxes that neither one of us could remember why we kept them. I had the old desk that I cut into small pieces. My shop contained more empty bags from seed, fertilizer, soil and others that were unidentifiable than I ever imagined. While it felt like a wasted day, it did make a big difference. I just don't see how we accumulate all of it.

Just think how good you'll feel when you walk in the shop tomorrow...it will look twice as big.

Well, maybe you need a chipper/shredder anyway...think of the $$ you'll save on mulching the garden....

Sounds like a very productive day to me! I'm sure once you're rested up some you'll convince her that a wood chipper is clutters duct tape - fixes it ALL

Wow, you really accomplished alot! I think it is so rejuvenating when old things that are no longer needed are finally gotten rid of. More room for more stuff to store!
