I joined this forum last year in August just before my daughter was born. I saw a lot of people doing a handmade Christmas. I remember thinking to myself "I want to do that but it may be awhile before I can." Well I've been watching a lot of youtube videos and looking for patterns on the internet. I think I might be able to pull off a handmade Christmas this year instead of five years down the road.
I also thought I would have to buy my knitting needles as I needed them, I thought it would be forever before my knitting took off. I met a nice lady at a yardsale. She was selling a huge set of knitting needles. I was excited because I thought that I would pay about ten dollars and get a ton of DP needles, regular needles and a cable needle. She said they belonged to her mother-in-law, and that she didn't knit. Apparently I was the only person interested in them that day because she all but paid me to take them off her hands. Now my knitting can move on from the one size needle I had and now I can knit Christmas gifts.

I guess I should start planning Christmas gifts if I want to get them done on time.

Julia: 3-5 Christmas dishcloths, 2 pairs of Christmas socks, hot chocolate mix, cookie mix in a jar.
Eadyn, Rachael, and Weasley: Fleece blankets
Cameron: Thick boot socks
Mom: 2 pairs of Christmas socks, hot chocolate mix, and cookie mix in a jar 3-5 Christmas dishcloths
Ed: Thick boot socks, beanie
Dad: Thick boot socks, hot chocolate mix, sugar free cookie mix in a jar.
Alesha: Scarf, gloves, and hat, 2 pairs of Christmas socks maybe a hooded shawl.
Claire: Christmas socks and fleece blanket
Judy: 2 pairs of Christmas socks, hot chocolate mix, cookie mix in a jar
Don: Thick boot socks, beanie
Brian: Thick boot socks

That's all I can think of. Now my problem is how much yarn and fleece I'm going to need lol.

keep your eye out for yarn at garage sales as well as huge sales on it in the upcoming weeks and months. I was able to buy a 5lb ball at Walmart last year for under $3. I still haven't used it, but I know it's on my list too. As for my handmade list, I've just started it so hopefully by the end of this week (now that the kids are back in school and my brain isn't so mushy lol) I should have it done. I'll try and remember to load it up here so you can see. I know that I'm sewing placemats and coasters for most of my family, but still thinking about the rest

Great find on the knitting needles! Good luck in getting it all done. I have been working on mine since December 26th of last year and I'm still not done!
