Back to work tomorrow after a 6 day stretch of paid time off hours. I am ready to get back to a scheduled life. The more free time I have the less I seem to accomplish. I need structure in my life. Don't get me wrong, I am very grateful for the extra time I have had with my family and to relax. The weather has been wonderful as well.
Todays auto withdrawal from checking was an energy bill. It was $72.00 higher than my normal budget pay amount! Say what?? Spent time on We energies website (lots of cool information) to figure out what was up, I knew I paid my bill last month. Still didn't quite understand it so called the company. Very nice customer service lady informed me that it was the month for settling up the balance of annual costs. My budget pay came up short due to the longer winter this year. Because my past 4 months of energy use has been lower than last year (thanks FV), they are keeping my budget pay the same this year. Also in the energy department I ran around the house and unplugged all unused appliances, radios, t.v.s., coffee pot, printer, etc.
Frugally we continue to eat out of the freezer and pantry as much as possible. I did find some canned foods that need to be used as soon as possible. Set them out for use tonight or tomorrow. Host son found friends to take him to airport tomorrow as they want to spend some time at Mall of America before he returns to Sweden. That will save us gas money. I will say my good byes tonight as I leave the house at 5 a.m. for work and he will be gone before I get home.
Unfrugally I had DH bring home some frosted flakes from the store he was working at this a.m. It was host sons favorite breakfast cereal when he stayed with us the first time. I rarely purchase cold cereal anymore. I thought I would treat him with his favorite brand before he returns home again. The 10 oz box of Kelloggs frosted flakes (smallest box of cereal I have seen in along time) was 4.xx on sale. Ridiculousness!!
