Busy week at work, which always makes the days fly by. I had a knitting class on Thursday and a beading class on Saturday, so it was also a well rounded week!

After a rainy weekend, the sun came out again on Monday, and it was a short-sleeve-shirt kind of week. Which was nice, because I did a lot of walking and outside work. Also got stuck in my share of meetings - yawn.

My knitting class was my sweater workshop. I am still working on the body, and I hope to start the sleeves by next week. The beading class was at a local little bead shop, and was to learn how to create a herringbone design bracelet with a rivoli pendant center. Very pretty little bracelet, and I learned the body of it this week. Next week is the pendant part.

The weekend also flew by. On Saturday, I had my beading class in the morning, and then I had to rush home to meet up with a lady who wanted to adopt two of the cockatiels I am fostering. Afterward, I spent some time working on my beading project and getting the house straightened up. I also made the mistake of roasting two garlic heads, to use in various recipes, and the smell of roasted garlic has lingered and makes me hungry every time I walk in the house! Today, I spent the whole day setting up an enclosure for the chicks, who had gotten too big for their little ferret pen. I am relatively happy with the results, and I wonder why I hadn't come up with something similar in the past. Once the chicks are old enough to join the adults, I could still use the pen as a hospital pen for the goats, or a pen to put any hens who need some recuperation time from the roosters, or a place to put an older rooster who can't defend himself anymore. In short, it has a multitude of uses, including for any future chicks I bring home!

I have been feeling somewhat directionless lately, having trouble staying motivated in my goals, and I did some soul-searching about that on Friday. I posted in my 3/28/2009 Chick Journal in more detail, but I came to the conclusion that I have been waiting for motivation, instead of creating it. So I have turned over a new leaf, or am in the process of turning it over, anyway, and hope to make April a productive and memorable month!

Love your last paragraph - so true for most, same thing happened to me when 'waiting' for my doctor to operate so I could get on with my life. Will be getting on with it independently of what he decides.

Lucky animals you have, you take such good care of them!!

Thank you, frugal-fannie. I will be sure to post pics in my album and probably the Needleworks Challenge thread.

Thanks, Mauimagic. I do try to keep the animals' lives as comfortable as possible. The way I reason it, I have control over the way they live, so I have the responsibility of making sure they have as good of lives as I can provide.
