  1. Cat Chronicle - The cat is caught and the adventure begins

    by , 03-06-2011 at 09:21 PM
As some of you read in my thread on the subject, I was successful, yesterday morning, in finally catching a wounded feral cat that has been hanging out at my property since November of last year. I don't know when she got hurt, but I noticed her limping about a month ago, and I have been trying to trap her ever since.

So yesterday morning, I didn't have much hope when I walked downstairs to check the trap...but there she was!!! Poor thing was probably in there since the night before! ...

  2. Road Map/To-Do List for March 6, 2011

    by , 03-06-2011 at 11:13 AM
I have training early tomorrow morning, so the plan is to have everyone prepped late today, so I can just get up and go tomorrow. I need to get breakfast to all first, then get my training gear ready, get some housework done, then load everyone up at dinner time, and hopefully still have a few minutes to relax before an early bedtime.

    1. Do my morning exercise
    2. Vitamins (morning)
    3. Change cat's food/water
    4. Feed dogs breakfast
    5. Outside stretch for the dogs/foraging toys
    6. Clean

  3. March 4th in a California Garden

    by , 03-05-2011 at 09:44 AM
Well, it is still winter. The sun peeps out for a few days, but then goes running off again, so no planting outside yet, although I did put in about a dozen garlic bulbs. I scattered them throughout some of my already established plantings, so they'll be like little late Easter eggs this year, if they all survive, popping up in places I am sure I will have forgotten that I planted them in!

I spent some time this week digging in my garden plot in anticipation, because my indoor seedlings ...
  4. Road Map/To-Do List for the Day - March 5, 2011

I have a vet appointment for Riley at 11:30 am (vaccination boosters), so the day will be separated into ARA and PRA (ante-Riley-appointment and post-Riley-appointment) today!! Morning routine doesn't change - breakfast to all, meds to the finches and Herbie. Then I need to make up some new medicated cookies for the donkeys, if I have time, before loading Riley up. If it is a nice day (too dark to tell yet), I may load all three dogs up and take them for a romp on my friend's property, up by the ...

  5. Road Map/To-Do List for the Day - March 4, 2011

    by , 03-04-2011 at 09:31 AM
Friday at last! The plan is to get my morning chores done, and to get everyone fed, then to get to work to update my case management logs. Then, get any other admin stuff that needs to be done out of the way, clean up my email, and make sure I have what I need for training on Monday. I have promised some co-workers that I'd go out for "drinks" (which means a diet Coke for me) after work, so I'll be home late, but tomorrow is the weekend, so no worries. Once home, get everyone fed, and ...
