The beginning of September marked the beginning of autumn on the ranch. Leaves are starting to turn and fall; the oak trees are dropping acorns down to hungry goats below; the evenings are becoming cool, and I awake in the morning looking forward to a hot cup of coffee.
A trip to the doctor at the beginning of the week disclosed that I have two herniated disks, as well as degenerative OA in three more of my lumbar disks. I was prescribed a TENS machine, and after some experimentation,
Wow, it has been a crappy week. Looking forward to a better one.
This week started with a friend of mine learning that his mother's colon cancer is back and is basically now terminal. The surgeon finally told her on Wednesday (which also happened to be her birthday) that she has, at most, three months left, so my friend is down in the bay area with her, arranging for hospice.

Posting a day late. Monday was not a great day, for a number of reasons. Hardly worth posting, but here goes:
Diet - 2 cups of coffee with cream/sugar; handful of grapes; about 5-6 cherry tomatoes.
Water - none
Exercise - nothing

Relatively quiet week, nothing exciting to report, and I'll keep this one short, because I received some bad news tonight, so I'm not really in the right frame of mind to ramble on.
A very good friend of mine called because his mother, who has been fighting colon cancer, was rushed to the hospital today, and the cancer has pretty much taken over her entire body. The doctor gives her a few weeks to a few months to live. She is almost 80 (Her 79th birthday is actually this Wednesday.),
Diet: 2 cups of coffee with cream and sugar; approx 2 peaches (dehydrated slices); 1 vegan burger with a side salad and approx 3 fries.
Water: 8 glasses. Barely.
Exercise: Did my PT and not much more.
I don't think I'll have lost any weight by tomorrow's weigh-in. I sneaked a peek tonight, and I was 148, so I don't see 4 pounds melting away overnight. I am HOPING I didn't GAIN any, but if I did, I am just racking it up to water gain, as I didn't
