  1. A week on the ranch (August 3- August 9, 2009)

    The week started off with a bang, and not a good one. I have been losing chickens, but couldn't figure out what was killing them. I thought maybe a skunk, as I could smell one occasionally. Well, Monday morning I awoke to the sound of the chickens and the guineas in a panic. I went down to the coop to find one dead chicken, with no skunk in sight. Then I looked around, and there was my neighbor's dog - with a chicken in its mouth. The dog dropped the hen, who was still alive, and came up to ...

    Eaten today:
    • 2 cups of coffee with cream and sugar;
    • 2 containers of yogurt (Yoplait light);
    • 2 oz. semi-sweet chocolate;
    • approx 1 c. banana chips;
    • approx 1/3. cup cooked pasta with approx 1 c. cooked chili on top.
    I drank about 6 glasses of water today. Will try to drink at least 2 more before going to bed.

    Did all my PT exercises. I tried going for a short walk yesterday, and it was too much, so I'm giving myself today to rest, then will try again, a shorter distance, ...

    Okay, I am just about giving up on getting enough water. I had about 2 glasses today. Every night, about this time, I think, "Oh, shoot! I didn't have my water today!" But by then, it is too late. (It is 8:30p as I type this.) Sigh. I'll try for two more glasses before I go to bed.

    Food-wise...
    • 2 cups of coffee with sugar and cream;
    • 1 container of yogurt;
    • approx 1/2 of a walnut (see, I'm not cheating in my list!! );
    • 2 slices of meatloaf with 1/3 c.

    On the menu today:
    • 2 cups of coffee;
    • approx 1/2 c. unbuttered popcorn (what was left from yesterday's popping);
    • 2 veggie dogs with HM catsup, mustard, and zucchini relish;
    • 2 oz. chocolate (Can you tell how lazy I am about eating? I know it was 2 oz because I've resorted to eating my semi-sweet cooking chocolate blocks!)
    • approx 2 soymilk/banana smoothies (what was left in the blender from yesterday's batch)
    • 1 container yogurt
    Approx 6 cups of water.

    Not the best day. I'm kind of all over the place, diet-wise. I did get all my exercises in, but I can't seem to get my act together otherwise.

    Water - hardly any. Maybe 2 glasses.

    Diet - 2 cups of coffee, 3 or 4 dehydrated squash chips, a large bowl of unbuttered popcorn, and approx 2 chocolate soy milk/banana smoothies.

    In part, I blame the muscle relaxant. It also appears to be relaxing my brain, because I've been forgetting things and I'm not tracking ...
