I decided after failing MANY times at grocery challenges, to try again.

My goal was $400 for our family of 6, and the home daycare.

Here are my totals!
mine was 371.94 including HBA

339.34 without.

For me this is fab, as I'm usually around 600.

Actual cash spent for me is: 204.85. We had various gift cards received as gifts/returns that we used this month. So still had to pay, just didn't use household funds.

I'm going to aim for $350 for February, it's a slightly shorter month. So that'll help.

I have started shopping different. I always have a basic plan based on lower cost meats. But that doesn't happen often. I tend to make a menu from what's on hand, fill in the blanks and stockpile what we use that is on sale. I have a bout 3 or 4 months TP, so unless there's a really good sale one, I won't get any. I've been doing shopping for coupons. I will walk through and collect coupons of things we do eat. But wait until there's a sale to use them. This is helping alot. I've only started doing that the last couple weeks and have had over $43 in coupons. Not great by the US standard, but in Canada, that's not too shabby! I've never used that many in a month before, let alone 2 weeks. So I will persist in using them whenever possible. I go to all the brands I use and check out their websites.

So with any luck it'll continue.

It does feel good to reach my goal this month!

Good for you. Your coupons sound like good savings to me, I never bother since so little of what I can use has coupons.
