The housing plan.

Tonight we went to look at show homes, and did drive by's on houses up for sale.

We have decided we'll be buying a house that is 3 or 4 years old. That way our landscaping is done. And with any luck the basement is still undeveloped.

Dh was kinda going, lets stage the house and sell!

But we have a pretty long list of things to finish in terms of projects. We also want to have more than $5000 in the bank, because if we are finishing a basement that will be eaten up. And we are in need of new furniture as well, so the plan is....

Shrink mortgage payment to only the minimum, I've been paying double, and bank that. Make a list of all projects that need to be completed and/or started and finished. And work through it.

We also need to work through each room and really brutally thin everything out.

We will list the house in the spring and sell by summer, and hopefully find something for the end of the school year. This way we won't uproot any kids through the summer.

In terms of the daycare, I expect one family will be having a baby around that time, the other will be completing her year of university and the 3rd family, might possibly bring the little one to me anyway, as it's on the way to dad's work. So it would be good timing for them.

If I had the summer off, that would give me lots of time to get settled in and plan the home daycare in the new home. How to make it work without converting the house into that permanently.

I'm pretty excited about this! I'm glad dh agrees we can wait 8 or 9 months, rather than try to get it done is 6 weeks.

Now to get it organized and done!

Wow, your DH is really excited about this isn't he? That is great that he is onboard and you both have the same idea. Have fun purging! :D
