  1. On my way to the agent...

I did a small amount of work on the book this weekend so far. I spent the majority of yesterday cleaning, so last night was my night to do the final touch editing.

I got all ten chapters done, I think. There's some cosmetic work with one of the chapters that I'm not happy with. However, I don't think I can find a way to re-do it without getting all upset because it's still not perfect. Eh, that's what editors are for, right?

We're heading to Staples today to get some letterhead ...
  2. So this whole book thing's pretty overwhelming...

I've been at work on this book for the last four months, at least. I believe I started on it back in October and well, I've hit a few bumps along the way. I had complete writers' block for a while and then absolutely no aspiration to continue writing. I got frustrated and overly anxious about everything. I absorbed myself into my work for a while and well, I managed to condense all that work into the last two weeks. I sort of overworked myself a bit and tried to take it easier in the last week or ...
  3. More work being done on the book!

So after taking some much-needed time off, I decided to dive right back in and get the meat of the work done on the book.

I finished the editing on Chapters One and Two, then did a re-write of some of Three and Four. Three was a big mess and somehow, I had two different sections on the same subject matter in two different spots! The largest chunk I had to move around was at least ...
  4. Restarting the dream, one step at a time.

I took a week off from the book because of RL issues, but now that things are going back to normal then I can start back up again!

I've been doing some research into what the literary agents are looking for as far as submission criteria goes. Everyone is either wanting an outline and some sample pages, one to two chapters, or just a query submission first. It's a royal pain in my rear, but I think I got it down to what I need to do:

Step One: Make an official outline. ...
  5. January 8th - Wow, been a while!

    by , 01-09-2009 at 12:59 AM
So I haven't posted in two or three days, and I need to catch up. Here's the short of it:

DH has been driving me up a wall with this debt budget thing. It's weird. I love him to death but it's just driving me crazy! It was mainly trying to figure out what bills to pay now and what to leave until the 22nd, even after he set up a biweekly repayment schedule. In the end, we paid the full cell phone bill (not due until the 30th), half the VISA on a 5-year repayment schedule and the $102.26 ...
