Dear FIL passed Friday afternoon

He's at peace, with his Saviour, while the rest of us seem to be in a daze. He was at home, as he requested. Surrounded by friends, family. Holding his hand was the love of his life, while DH (of mine) read Psalms, through tears to him. Peaceful, quiet, and just what this wonderful, amazing, and humble man wanted.
The last three days have seemed a week. I'm numb, still in shock, I guess, haven't really broken down, but can't concentrate on anything.
Washer broke - no brassieres today, how embarassing. Housework at a standstill, And I'm wondering how long steak can sit in the fridge after being thawed Friday, till it goes bad? I'll try to muster the oomph to fire up the grill tomorrow, just so it isn't wasted.
I'm also thinking pre-planning arrangements is a great idea - there's so much else to think about, it's been great knowing details have been decided previously. (FIL is being cremated, the State Cremation Society came to get him, will provide urn and vault that we picked out a few weeks ago, and will file paperwork. I'm very impressed with them so far.)
So, that's an update, aside from the fact that I believe I'm melting with all the humidity. Thanks for prayers and hugs and Blessings.
