Ready for anything, I hope!

On my way to the garden, day before last, my foot sank into a wet, muddy, quicksand-like mess. It turned out we had a leak from the well to the houseline. What a mess! Thank goodness DH is super handy, and that the rental place had an excavator! Oh, and of course DH accidentally ripped up the power to the garage, the chickens AND the line from the generator to MIL's house, *sigh*. It never ends . . .
Get back inside and all the pilot lights are out on the stove, and now my toilet is running - what the dickens?
I began work, just a few hours yesterday and today. (More stress) OKay, people are seriously freaking out about 'Irene' - we live in VT, hundreds of miles away from the storm right now, and yet, radio warnings are occurring, stores are advertizing their 'storm supplies', people are out chopping down dead trees, the price of gas jumped 12 cents in TWO HOURS. Geez, people, eat some chocolate or something.
Not to say I'm hiding head in sand. I've got supplies, plans, back-up plans, and gear. I did top off the gas today - because I was at half, and half reads to me as empty. . . but that's just me.
Just stay safe, keep calm, follow directions, and keep in touch with family - oh yeah, prayers never hurt anybody either.
