Hubby and I made it safely to the West Coast for nephew's wedding, which is today. Looking back over my menu post I have to admit we have not followed it very closely. You see, when we hit Revelstoke, B.C. yesterday the Farmer's Market was on... Need I say more?!

Thirty-four dollars later we left armed with gluten-free buns, gluten-free & sugar-free energy balls, gluten-free venison saskatoon sausages (to die for!) and some hormone, anti-biotic free ground turkey. Oh! And a bag of fresh spring greens. Man! Are they good!

So we have been snacking on tabbouleh and chicken salad the last couple of days. I had the chicken salad on lettuce the first evening, and then we had it on the spring greens and GF buns the next evening.

Snacks have been nuts, pepita goji berry bark, carrot cake (DH), kettle cooked potato chips, raw energy balls, and fresh fruit.

Lunch has been the tabbouleh. Honestly, we are not terribly hungry with sitting in the car for two days.

Breakfast this morning included a couple of the aforementioned venison saskatoon sausages, buckwheat pancakes, and applesauce.

Once we arrived we met up with family. Got told to nix the cheap hotel in Revelstoke. We were going to stay at the Alpine Inn, but our family did on the way here and said it was for homeless people, and they would not stay there again. So we quickly canceled and rebooked at the Days Inn...at twice the price. Sigh.

However our stay in Golden at the Prestige Motor Inn was good. The room was very nice, the bed was nice, the kitchenette was nice. However the frame was falling off the mirror in the bathroom. But then the room was heavily discounted too. It was $100/night for everything, including taxes. Normally a kitchenette is about $150/night.

I did all my booking through Booking.com and Expedia. What I found is they offer the difficult to book rooms or lower quality rooms on these sites. I have been impressed with the bargains, but not with the overall quality of the rooms. Our current kitchenette has a burner that does not work on the stove. That is frustrating, but I am thinking I will not need it. Tonight we feast at the wedding. Tomorrow we leave to go back home.

Sorry for the rambling post folks. Our current kitchenette is right next to the Trans-Canada Highway and I got little to no sleep last night. So much for cheap hotel rooms!
