So how do you stretch 5 lbs of ground beef?

This is how I divy it up.

1 lb- stroganoff (stretch with discounted mushrooms) homemade hamburger helper.
2 lbs- huge batch of chilli- enough for two huge meals of chili (freeze one) and a dinner of chili topped baked potatoes or tortillas = 3 meals
1 lb- big batch of spaghetti sauce = 2 meals

    1 lb- hamburger stew= 2 meals

That is a total of 8 meals with 5 lbs of hamburger.

  2. January 22nd Weigh In Day

    by , 01-22-2009 at 10:09 PM
I had the weigh in the the "Lose Weight and Feel Great" Contest at work. I definitely feel great! I lost 8.2 lbs and my partner lost 8.8 lbs!! Granted I wore shoes the first time and had a sweat shirt on. I have been working out every day, have not had any extra sugars or pop and have been eating better (more fruits and veggies). Next week, I'm sure I won't have lost as much. We won't find out how we rank tomorrow. There is a prize each week for the top team. I really hope that ...

Today was actually a calm day for me (shocker), but hey it happens. The bank account is finally back on track, it was so nice to have the numbers in the account match to my check book. I pray and pray that will never happen again. We still haven't heard anything from the police, other than the fact that the license plate must have been a dead tag because its not associated to the vehicle they were driving...YAY for our luck!

Anyways, I stopped at the grocery store on the way home ...

  4. Priceless (or Change of Plans)

I heard back from my dentistís office today. My medical insurance will cover my IV sedation as long as my oral surgeon codes the procedure as a surgical extraction. I will be making sure that he does! This means instead of paying $633, I will only have to pay about $200.00. Woo hoo!

I received one of my credit card statements today. My new balance is $10,372.95 (about $100 lower than last month). While Iím happy that the balance went down, it really got me thinking about how limited ...

by , 01-22-2009 at 07:14 PM (a step in the right direction)
I have a ton of stuff on my mind, and I could use some prayers and positive thoughts my way about now. I hate asking for them, but I truly need them. I need to wrap my mind around everything and do a lot of figureing out.
