    I got up today and immediately washed my face and combed out my hair, not a usual act for a day off.

    Made myself eat some breakfast (two eggs, over easy), which is one of the things I am trying to get better about, as every single thing I read about nutrition says to eat breakfast!

    I had to go buy some groceries, and I tried to buy a few items that would help me get over the "no breakfast" rut. I got some soy milk and some juice, so at the very minimum, ...

  2. New Years Eve Plans!!!!

    For one of my Christmas gifts DH booked a room at a Bed and Breakfast for NYE.

    He is such a sweetheart!
    Will be a great way to start 2009!!
    Just the 2 of use for the day!!
    He is on vacation this week so it is a little get away for the 2 of us.

    We try and have a little us time every 3 months or so but have not been away since July so this in much needed.
    This time together really does our marriage good.

  3. January $60 Food Budget!!!

    My January food budget is going to be $60.
    DH is totally on board for this.
    Just need to sit down and do a menu and follow through with it.
    Would like to try some new recipes also in January.
    Will be putting my menu on here so I am more accountable for it.
    Most of the $60 will be for produce and dairy.

    Not that long ago it was taboo to speak about money in public. But now, as with so many other things, talking about money has become more acceptable. I hear it all the time. Friends have asked me what kind of debt we have, wanting me to break it down into car payments, credit cards, and mortgages. (When I said, “None,” one friend got huffy and said, “Well, if you don’t want to tell us that’s fine, but don’t lie.”)

    Just how much sugar I use!

    I'll admit I LOVE chocolate, it's one of my most favorite things in the world. But I don't buy it. I'm also pretty particular as to what kind of chocolate so the CHristmas chocolates I was given were eaten by the kids or by dh. So it's not the treats that are my enemy.

    But i love sweetened tea, coffee, hot chocolate, cappucino. I have several cups a day, it's -OMG outside, it warms and soothes me. I love it. But it adds up fast.
