    We canned forty-two quarts of tomatoes today. We started in the garden picking what needed to come to the house. We got cucumbers, squash and honeydews. The melons are delicious. This is our first time growing them. Then we started canning. It was a long day at the end of a long weekend. We decided to do what we could today so we would not have to do any during the week.     Cooking spray
    4-pound lean boneless round pot roast
    16-ounce can stewed tomatoes
    6-ounce can tomato paste
    1 1/4 cups water (or undiluted fat-skimmed broth)
    1 to 2 teaspoons dried basil or pizza seasoning
    1/4 teaspoon instant garlic
