    The last few months have been unusual even for us. There were several medical issues that had to be addressed that kicked our behinds financially and emotionally. The big kids now have a semester or year of college under their belts and everyone is getting ready to face the summer. Pixie is taking one class but Lou and Annie are taking the summer off.     I was very happy work and school were canceled yesterday for the kids. I am thankful DH took a vacation day instead of waiting to see if his boss shut down the plant Thursday. As it turns out his office-mate made it in. They dismissed everyone at 1030 am. This is when it was really getting bad weather wise. The coworker's car slid off the road and he walked back to the office. Thank goodness he had a warm place to wait for help but as of this morning they had not had a tow truck available to help ...

    One of my daughters just figured out something about herself that makes her feel more at ease with who she is. I compared it to realizing you have a size 9 foot you have been trying to cram into size 7 shoes your whole life. It may be a little detail but it makes a big difference.

    Part of our homeschooling is trying to pass along our values. With the boys being little I try to keep it simple. Today the value was caring for others.
