This is the record of my journey toward a more realistic and healthier lifestyle.

I've been away for awhile, so sorry to those whose blogs I try to read regularly. I didn't really GO anywhere, just been overwhelmed with life, the universe, and everything.

I'm back on the weight loss wagon, though mostly it means I'm starting completely over. While DH was putting in so much overtime something had to give. Like housewives everywhere, it's that commitment to myself that falls by the wayside.

YDD has now officially outgrown...just about everything. ...

DH did the taxes in "preview" mode; that's his standard practice. He'll do the final one later this week I think. We're getting a decent refund, enough to start the snowball rolling and put some aside to seed the savings. It appears that we have a minor leak in the living room but surely that won't be as expensive as buying a used car, which is what killed us the last two years. Book Club: I've read one book, and one classic in progress. The book I read was Volume 3 of The Sharing Knife, "Passage". I'm really enjoying this series and am saddened to see that the fourth volume is the last. The classic I'm reading is Jane Eyre. I'd say it's a slow plod, but since I managed better than 10 chapters in two days I guess that's not strictly accurate. It's just not as much fun as P/P or even S/S. I need me that sweatshirt that says "I (heart) Mr. Darcy". ...

New things tried: yankee pot roast, adobo pot roast, vegan spice cake with lemon ginger frosting, vegan cinnamon rolls, vegan cornbread, vegan corn biscuits, all-rotten potatoes and ham. Everything a success except the cornbread (does this mean I'm actually turning into a COOK?)

Accomplished, house: re-arranged spaces, organized classroom supplies, maintained a certain level of tidy, made laundry detergent and dryer sheets. Laundry detergent isn't something I'll try again, the stuff ...
