This is the record of my journey toward a more realistic and healthier lifestyle.
DH wound up putting in 20 hours of overtime last week. We handled it, with one big but. Or perhaps I mean big BUTT.
I completely failed to exercise or eat properly. I maintained the house, I cooked healthful meals that would hold and could be warmed up when he got home. He was able to attend FROG and Princess with the girls. But in my normal pattern, something had to give and it was the exercise and no-seconds-or-snacks rule.
I did make it to my meeting Monday,
I gained weight, I still am not reading much. Working out is not fitting in again.
I did get out my tin-whistle and harp and started doing those things of an evening. I'll work at keeping it up. (thanks to those who pointed out that this is NECESSARY)
I made laundry detergent. It seems to work pretty well, except for cold/delicate. Since I have no food processor or blender, the soap chunks are pretty big. I'd just as soon not mess around with a big batch of hot
History today. I will watch the swearing in with my kids. I will cry.
Struggling on the smaller, more personal side of things.
I've been working my fanny off this month. I've spent 20 days laying groundwork and changing the configuration of our lives for the better. I've been feeling really good about it, even though it's hard work and exhausting.
Next week I have something on the calendar almost every evening, for Girl Scouts. Trainings, planning

MLK Day. I am so completely tickled about what is going to happen tomorrow. I didn't think it would happen in my lifetime. I'm still afraid to hope, afraid to believe, but I can feel it growing inside me whether I WANT it or not.
Saturday was huge. Walked the neighborhood to do the cookie thing, made a few phone calls. Lunch, then off to the theatre to meet my Dad and stepmom. We got there early so DH and the kids went up and looked at the Chinese art collection at the attached
It's been a reasonably good week.
Pound a week: success, 1.2
Book club, 4 this month: not on track
Change Jar: made a small deposit
Exercise: manage all weekdays since Thursday. Gotta find a better way to track though.
Cool to be kind: Nothing particularly outstanding, but I managed to be pleasant and friendly all week anyway.
