    Monkey Bread


    Recipe Description
    Yummy Cinnamon Caramel Pull Apart Bread
    Preparation Steps:
    Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

    Butter a bundt pan.

    Mix the 1 cup of sugar and 2 tsps of cinnamon together.
    Set aside 1/2 cup of this mixture for later.

    Put the rest in a ziploc bag.
    Level of Difficulty:
    easy
    Time Needed:
    1 hour
    Ingredients:
    3 packages of buttermilk biscuit tubes
    1 cup sugar
    2 tsp cinnamon
    1 cup butter
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    Serves:
    Will feed a bunch!
    Directions:
    Take 3 packages of buttermilk biscuit tubes (10 per roll) and cut each roll into 4 pieces.

    Drop roll pieces into 1/2 cup cinnamon sugar mixture in ziploc bag and coat a few at a time.

    Drop sugar coated pieces into a well buttered bundt pan (don't squish roll pieces when placing them in the bundt pan).

    Put 1/2 cup of the left over sugar/cinnamon mix and whatever is left in the ziploc bag and 1/2 cup packed brown sugar and 1 cup of butter (2 sticks) into small sauce pan.

    Bring this mixture just to a boil, take off heat right away. Carefully drizzle over the roll pieces.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min.

    Cool slightly in an upright position, then tip pan over onto a large platter to remove monkey pull-apart bread. The caramel will ooze so be sure to
    use a platter with a lip so caramel doesn't pour off the plate.

    Pull apart the pieces, eat and enjoy!!
    Great served warm or cold.

    ok, so this so rocks.......my kids looove it!

    but here is my take on it.

    2 or 3 tubes of "cheap-o deep-o" biscuts cut in at least four peices. Drop in a plate filled with a white sugar/cinamon mixture...coat the peices and place in a 8 by 8 pan (I don't own a bundt pan). Dump however much sugar mixture is left on top of biscut peices.
    In pan melt 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter or margarine and 1 cup of brown sugar....melt and blend.....pour over biscuts. Bake according to insturctions on biscut tubes

    Isn't it funny that no matter how simply it is made
    the results are so great and everyone just loves it!!

    Actually next time I don't feel like dragging out the bundt pan
    I will just make it in a baking pan and a your way negates the
    need for a platter.

    I just may make it your fast way tommorrow!

    Here is how I make Monkey Bread ~ I got this recipe from FlyLady and its a tradition for Christmas morning around here....

    20 unbaked frozen rolls (I use Rhodes brand)
    1 C Brown Sugar
    1/4 c instant vanilla pudding
    2 tsp cinnamon
    1/3 c butter, melted

    Lightly grease bundt pan (these can also be made individually in muffin tins (two rolls per muffin cup)). Spread the rolls evenly around bundt pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar, pudding mix & cinnamon. Pour melted butter over the top.

    Cover with a damp dish towel and let is raise overnight.

    In the morning, preheat oven to 350* Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

    Turn rolls out onto a platter and enjoy!

    I am definitely going to try these different versions for my children. I think they will love it. I have never made it before. Thanks for everyones recipes.

    Omg, I love this stuff! My sister and I made it as kids, then my bunk mate in Marine Corps boot camp mentioned she liked it too. I thought it was just something that we made up.

    Hi all! I just did this recipe using my homemade biscuit dough instead of canned. I halfed the rest of the monkey bread recipe and used 800ml (about 3 1/3 cups) flour, 30ml (2 Tbsp) butter, 2 eggs, and 200ml (4/5 cup; you might try up to 300ml / 1 + cups depending on humidity) water in substitution for the buttermilk biscuit tubes. It was a great success!
