    Sweet Cornbread


    Recipe Description
    If you like cornbread on the sweet side, you'll love this!
    Preparation Steps:Level of Difficulty:
    Easy
    Time Needed:Ingredients:
    1/2 cup cornmeal
    1 1/2 cups flour
    2/3 cup sugar
    1 tablespoon baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/3 cup oil
    3 tablespoons melted butter
    1 tablespoon honey
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 1/4 cups milk
    Serves:
    6-8
    Directions:
    Preheat oven to 350º.

    In a bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the oil, melted butter, honey, eggs, and milk.

    Pour into a greased 8-inch or 9-inch square pan.

    Bake for 35 minutes.

    We tryed it, We love it. We doubled the recipe for lots of extra ( my DH always thinks we'll run out of corn bread before he has his fill ), I cut down the milk a quarter cup because DH was gettin nervous with the mixture and it turned out just fine (DH has been helping with the cooking due to me being in a car accident).Thank You for this recipe.

    I love a somewhat sweet cornbread, not quite as sweet as this though. My husband doesn't like it sweet at all. So I very seldom get any that is sweet at all.

    I love sweet cornbread. The one I make only calls for1/4 cup of sugar. Maybe I'd make this recipe into corn muffins.

    BTW, don't make cornbread dressing for poultry with sweet cornbread
