    Smile Homey Bread Pudding

    Homey Bread Pudding


    Recipe Description
    Delicious and quick recipe for an after dinner desert or gift.
    Preparation Steps:
    Heat oven to 350 degrees.
    Level of Difficulty:
    Easy
    Time Needed:
    45 minutes
    Ingredients:
    1 - Pound loaf day old white or whole wheat bread torn into pieces.
    1 - quart warmed milk
    3 - large eggs
    1 1/2 to 2 TBLS - granulated sugar
    2 - TBLS pure vanilla extract
    1 - cup raisins
    3 - TBLS butter

    Optional garnishes: carmel sauce, pecan halves
    Serves:
    Serves 16
    Directions:
    In large bowl, pour milk over bread.
    In medium size bowl mix, eggs, sugar and vanilla. Stir egg mixture and raisins into soaked bread; mix well.
    Generously butter 9 x 13" baking dish; pour in pudding.
    Refrigerate at least 1 hour.
    Bake until firm and golden brown, about 45 minutes.
    Makes 16 servings.

    Yummm! I do't suppose you happen to have a recipe for "scotch sauce" that I used to get with bread pudding at a restaurant?
